Uthman Al-Affan r.a.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I turn my face to Him who created the heavens and earth, a pure monotheist in submission and am not of those who associate others with Him. My prayer, worship, life and death are for Allah, Lord of the World. He has no partner and thus I have been commanded and I am of those who submit. Ameen.

Uthman Ibn Affan r.a. is yet another close companion of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Like Abu Bakar As-Siddiq r.a. and Umar Al-Khattab r.a., Uthman r.a. is another generous figure during the time of Prophet s.a.w. Uthman r.a. is a wealthy man. He inherited his late father's wealth since he was a toddler. Uthman's r.a. philanthropy acts were undeniable. He was always ready to sacrifice his wealth for the sake of Allah s.w.t.

The stories of Uthman's r.a. philanthropy acts were countless. Among them was Uthman's habit of freeing slaves. He made it a habit that on every Friday he would buy slaves for the purpose of setting them free. This was also the reason why he was often without servants although he was wealthy.

At another instance, when Prophet s.a.w and the Muslim armies were going to fight the Byzantines at Tabuk, Prophet s.a.w. called on the wealthier people to give from their wealth and property to support and equip the soldiers. Uthman r.a. presented 200 saddled camels and 200 ounces of gold. He also gave 1,000 dinars. Prophet s.a.w. saw the need to inspire and instill in others Uthman's r.a. behavior. Thus Prophet s.a.w. kept asking for donations hoping to inspire others to give as freely as Uthman r.a. However, it was Uthman who surpassed them all and gave a total of 900 equipped camels. Subhanallah.

If you could not be as freely as Uthman Ibn Affan r.a. in giving out part of your wealth, let's at least be consistent in your Amal by engaging with the various Infaq Projects that we have to offer to you ALL YEAR ROUND!

With your support, we managed to collect 107 kg of Mutton for the event.

As the mosque only requested for 100kg,
the remaining amount will be forwarded to the following month's events
which is on 22nd Sept 2019.

Infaq Telekung 2019 ( Updates )

2417 Telekungs collected.

1596 Telekungs distributed.

including 70 Telekungs

that were distributed to 1 village in Cambodia on 24th July 2019

*The distribution will resume after Eidul Adha.

For the next distribution, the Wakf Muqaddam will also be together with it. The partnering NGO in Cambodia have informed us that the next distribution will be end of this month. We await more updates from their end.

Why does the distribution takes very long?

One of the reasons is that the villages are very far apart from each other.
To get to one village may take 2-4 hours of travelling not on tar roads but on muddy and pothole roads.

Wakf Muqaddam (Cambodia)

Correction. Last week we mentioned that the 1st batch of Muqaddam will be distributed during the Eiduladha period. However the NGO there have updated that it will only be distributed by end of this month.

In this Wakf project, we are collaborating with an NGO in Cambodia, Organization for Community Development Cambodida (OCDC) to provide this muqaddam to the children, orphans, women and also to adults in Cambodia who wishes to learn to read the Al-Qur'an, beginning with the basic using Muqaddam that you have donated.

Wakaf Housing Project in Cambodia

The Messenger of Allaah (pbuh) said: “Part of a man’s happiness includes a good neighbor, a comfortable mount, and a spacious abode.”

As of now Alhamdulillah we have succeed in building 11 houses.

And now we are in the process of building another 1 more house.

Latest update:

2 house is in queue.

Insyallah we are able to take in 3-5 more houses.

Please note that each housing project may take about 3 months to a year to complete.
Depending on weather conditions and queue.

Shelter is one of our most basic needs: Without it, it is almost impossible to carry on any other kind of activity or live a comfortable life. Yet at least one in every four people worldwide live without decent housing and over 100 million people live in absolute homelessness. A place that keep us safe; A place we seek sanctuary from; A place to rest and sleep in, that we can call home to most of us but not everyone has the opportunity to own it.

While we are living in the comfort of our homes protected, others in different parts of the world may not share the same fate. Despite working day and night to support their families, they are still too poor to build a house of their own.

Cambodia are home to nearly 2,700 homeless (as of 2017) who are living in poverty. How lucky are we to live in a HDB flat with clean tiles, proper room to sleep in and only our family members reside in it but as for them it is good enough to have a place to stay even if they have to share it with other families.

In this Wakaf project, we aim to aid and provide these families with proper housing. To give them a shelter that they need.

Gaza Food Aid Hampers!

And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive [Quran 76:8]

Ibn ‘Abbas and Mujahid said, "This verse denotes that they feed the needy, the orphan and the captive despite the scarcity of food and their need and love for it."
