This week, we are still on the topic of befriending Allah s.w.t. and that is through getting immerse in His book, the Al-Quranul Karim. Just to share a humble routine, every night, despite how exhausted we might be, we can always make a point to read Surah Al-Mulk before going to bed.
BUT WHY??
It is simply because of these 3 reasons:
- Surah Al-Mulk will be our companion in the grave
- Surah Al-Mulk protects us and saves us from the punishment of Allah s.w.t.
- Surah Al-Mulk intercedes for our forgiveness
DO NOT BELIEVE ME??
Let's take a look at these Hadith:
‘Abdullaah ibn Mas'ood r.a. said: “Whoever reads 'al-Mulk’ every night, Allah s.w.t. will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allah s.a.w., we used to call it al-mani'ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allah s.w.t., there is a chapter [and] whoever recites it every night has done very well.” [Sahih at-Targhib wat-Tarhib, no. 1475]
Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu Hurayrah r.a that Allah’s Messenger s.a.w. said, “Verily, there is a chapter in the Qur'an which contains thirty Ayat that will intercede on behalf of its reciter until he is forgiven. (It is): 'Blessed be He in Whose Hand is the dominion." [At-Tirmidhi]
Jabir reported: The Prophet s.a.w. would not go to sleep until he had recited the chapters, “The revelation of the Book, in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds,” (32:1) and, “Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion, and has power over all things,” (67:1). Tawus said, “They both have seventy more virtues than every other chapter of the Quran.” [Sunan al-Tirmidhī
2892]
How soothing it is to go to bed knowing you are under the protection and care of the Almighty Allah s.w.t. Not trying to exaggerate, but I feel the love from Allah s.w.t. And if it happens that I die in my sleep with Allah's s.w.t. will, at least I have tried my very best in becoming a good Muslim by having my recitation of Surah Al-Mulk as my very last deed in this world.
This is the truth about the book of Allah s.w.t. The more you get closer to it, the more surprise you will unveil and the more astonish you will be of Allah's s.w.t. greatness.
