Week by week we have been introducing to you some exemplary figures, during Prophet Muhammad's s.a.w. time, whose Infaq and Sedekah activities were beyond extraordinary and miraculous. We hope in one way or another, it has inspire you to become like them.
But what motivated them to act in such a way that to a certain extent they would willingly give up everything for the sake of Allah s.w.t and the religion and left nothing for themselves?
Last week, we mentioned that one of the factors that motivated these exemplary figures was the Characteristic of Muttaqin. Another factor that might have motivated them was the fact Allah s.w.t. promises to Multiple Rewards and Wealth of one who actively involved in doing charity for the sake of Allah
s.w.t.
Surah AL-BAQARAH, verse 276
Allah destroys interest and give increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever.
Surah AL-BAQARAH, verse 261
The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed (of grain) which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred of grains. And Allah multiplies (His rewards) for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
Surah AL-BAQARAH verse 265
And the example of those who spend their wealth seeking means to the approval of Allah and assuring (reward for) themselves is like a garden on high ground which is hit by a downpour - so it yields its fruits in double. And (even) if it is not hit by a downpour, then a drizzle (is sufficient). And Allah, of what you do, is
Seeing.
Surah AL-BAQARAH verse 245
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him we will returned.
Surah AL-HADID verse 18
Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and (they who) have loaned Allah a good loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.
I am pretty sure the above verses are verses very familiar to you and are verses frequently used in promoting charity. Nevertheless, I purposely highlighted it to point out one important message, IKHLAS.
It is not wrong for you to do something and in return looking forward for what Allah s.w.t. promises for that act. But Ikhlas is a magical credit that Allah granted to clean hearts, that makes little things big and shallow things deep and that makes limited worshipping unlimited so much so that man can demand the most expensive things in the
markets of the world and the hereafter with it and is valued in the places where people crawl thanks to it.
Therefore, it is not about the material or worldly form of wealth and rewards that we are chasing. But it is the unimaginable wealth and rewards of Hereafter that is awaiting us that we are looking forward to.
Let's engage in our various Infaq Projects that we have to offer to you ALL YEAR ROUND! Who knows you might be highly regarded by people who benefited from the Infaq Projects that you participated in!
