Guide us to the straight path - the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked (Your) anger or of those who are astray. Ameen.

 

We thank you for subscribing to our mailing list and following our development thus far. We hope this email reaches you and your family in the best state of health and Iman, Ameen. In a few days time, we will be celebrating our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. birthday or better known as the Maulidur Rasul. 12th Rabiul Awwal was when our Prophet s.a.w. born. Thus, every year the Muslims without failed commemorate this date by organizing all kinds of activities and programs.

 

While we are still on the topic of befriending Allah s.w.t., I think it is appropriate that we talk about the importance and benefits of Sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w. As believers we are encouraged to act in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet of Allah s.w.t. The following verses of the Quran has highlighted this point:

 

“Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct).” (Al-Ahzab, 21)

 

“If ye do love Allah, follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins...” (Al-Imran, 31).

 

It means the sign of loving Allah s.w.t. and the way of making oneself loved by Allah s.w.t. is by adopting the Sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w. and acting in accordance with it. A person who loves Allah s.w.t.. really will definitely try to resemble the person whom Allah s.w.t. loves and is pleased with, and try to imitate his deeds. 

 

It is very difficult to act in accordance with the whole Sunnah. It is very difficult even for the great saints and scholars. However, although not everyone can act in accordance with the whole Sunnah, everybody can have the intention of acting in accordance with the Sunnah and be in favor of the Sunnah. Thus, a person will not be deprived of the intercession of the Messenger of Allah s.w.t. and will not be away from the abundance of the Sunnah since he has the intention of acting in accordance with the Sunnah and is in favor of the Sunnah.

 

We should always have the desire and intention of fulfilling Sunnahs although we cannot fulfill them due to the inconvenience of the conditions. We should not ignore the Sunnahs that we can fulfill without any excuses and due to laziness.  

 

Thus, acting in accordance to the Sunnah is yet another way that helps us to befriend Allah s.w.t. Try it and you will see the positive result of it!!
