Previously, I have highlighted some possible reasons that could have motivated and encouraged honorable figures like Abu Bakar As-Siddiq r.a., Ali Bin Abi Talib r.a. and Khadijah Bintu Khuwailid r.a. willingly and without any doubts to Infaq their selfs and their wealth for the sake of Allah s.w.t.,  for the religion and for their beloved Prophet, Muhammad s.a.w. The major reason is none other than preparing themselves for the hereafter, the AKHIRAH.

To be honest, although we know the benefits and rewards of doing charity, some times pocketing out $2 for a packet tissue from a disabled can still be very difficult. How many people will just walk passed a disabled selling packet tissues at the Bus Interchange? How many people will just look down as if they never see anything at the MRT Station? How many people will have in their hearts "oh I have donated yesterday, I will skip today"?

Look readers, even if you are on a budget, there are many other ways you can be charitable without even focking out a single cent. For example,

2. Donating your SKILLS
3. Donating your BLOOD
4. Donating your STUFF
5. Organizing a Drive
6. Raising a Fund

THESE DO NOT NEED MONEY!!

I will give you a very simple example. Everyweek you will be receiving newsletters from us. In it, are various Infaq Projects advertisements. But you are on a tight budget. Worried not!! Simply forward the newsletter or a particular Infaq Project link to family and friends and you have DONATED YOUR TIME to do good.

If you could go beyond than just forwarding the newsletters, it will be better. Apply your marketing skill and convince them on our Infaq Project and you have DONATED YOUR SKILL.

There are many ways and means when it comes to charity. So let's help us in our various Infaq Projects that we have to offer to you ALL YEAR ROUND! Probably not your money, but your effort in spreading it to others!!

Banyuwangi is located in the Eastern most of the Java Island. Just across the sea is Bali & Lombok.

In this particular location, the land is wakf by the villagers in the area and they need help with the cost of building the Masjid which can serve up to 500 families ( 2000 villagers based on 4 person per house ) in that location. The land area is about 400 sqm.

After the completion of mosque, the local imam and villagers will be managing the day to day operations of the mosque. 

This location is also where our yearly Qurban operations are for Banyuwangi, hence we will be visiting it yearly for the next few years to see the upkeep of the mosque. 

Funds needed: SGD $98,000

Project estimated to complete within 6 months to 1 year from start of project.
Start of project - Only happens when funds are sufficient.

If you wish to contribute to this project, you may wakf as follows
i) $50

ii) $100 for 1 name.
ii) $500 for 5 names.
iii) $1000 for 10 names

Names will be printed on a board and featured on one of the mosques wall.

You may also wish to wakf $50 however we will not be able to print the wakif name due to insufficient space.

Currently the Masjid have not been named yet and the villagers have agreed to allow the wakif that contributes minimally SGD $65,000 to give its name. We will include 2 tickets to fly to Banyuwangi, Indonesia with one night stay for the opening ceremony. This will be updated closer to the completion of the mosque.

If you wish to do so, please contact us at 9118 3997 and payment is only by cheque due to the large amount for this special wakf.

We will close this project once the full amount have been received.

As per other projects, we will monitor this project closely and share the developments through this newsletter.

While there are people who struggle with money to attend classes or courses, there are also people who have money but have no idea how to help another. Hence this fund is to match such people to ensure that those who struggle are able to attend such classes.

Secondly, the fees to teachers. Often we had this complains from teachers that they are not paid market rate or their students keep asking for lower fees. Just imagine this, it started out with $30 per month and because of inability to pay, the student request for $20 per month. So imagine if you multiply that to 40 students. From $30 x 40 students = $1200, it reduces to $20 x 40 students = $800 per month. We have seen this happening and eventually the teachers will be less motivated to teach and will move on to other jobs. And sadly such vicious cycles repeats and the costs of living doesn't go down. So yes, the second purpose is to protect the livelihood of the teachers.

Thirdly. In general this can greatly subsidise the fees for various organisers to conduct their courses. Yes we will work with other organisers to help subsidised course fees so that everyone in general can benefit from it.
