Guide us to the straight path - the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked (Your) anger or of those who are astray. Ameen.

Did you realize that it is only through the sacrifices, efforts and immense love of the Prophet s.a.w. that we have been given the incredible guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Allah s.w.t. says in the Qur’an:

Indeed Allah conferred a great favor on the believers when he sent among them a Messenger from among themselves, reciting unto them His verses, and purifying them, and instructing them (in) the Book (Quran) and Al-Hikmah, (the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw)), while before that they had been in manifest error’. [Surah Al-Imran:164]

We naturally tend to remember the beautiful character of the Prophet s.a.w. more in Rabiul Awwal, but we should not single out this month to connect with him and follow his Sunnah. Rather, we should use this month as an opportunity to build good habits so we can emulate him throughout the year.

Above all, Rabiul Awwal is a time for being grateful to Allah s.w.t. for the amazing blessing of sending the Prophet s.a.w. to us and guiding us to His Light. It is a time for grounding ourselves in our purpose once more and reviving our connection with Allah s.w.t. and His Messenger s.a.w. by learning more about the Qur’an and Sunnah. This is the ultimate blessing and significance of Rabiul Awwal.

Introduction Workshop to Islamic Inheritance

Did you know that there are millions of unclaim Muslim inheritance funds in Baitulmal in Singapore?

What is baitulmal?

Baitulmal is the Muslim treasury. In Singapore, MUIS is in charge of these funds. A portion of this fund comes from unclaimed Muslim inheritance funds besides zakat and so on. Furthermore it's a fund that cannot be used at owns will. More often it will be parked there until a family member is able to claim it and let's be clear the process to claim it is not simple. Imagine if one assets is in the hundreds of thousands, one cannot just simply go there and say that you are a family member. There will be procedures like getting a letter from court and in some situations a lawyer needs to come in. Similarly MUIS also cannot use these funds anyway they wish. Hence the millions in funds locked down in the treasury.

Where does this unclaimed money comes from?

Very often it comes from CPF itself because this Muslim Brother or Sister passed away without nominating any family member or person to be entrusted with the funds. Besides that, the deceased was not aware about the faraidh distribution, they didn't prepare a proper will and so on.

As we know, not many people would like to hear and listen about death but the reality death is near. Every single one of us grows older each day and we are nearing death each time. It may even come to us now if Allah swt wants to take us back.

Before we meet our creator, beside preparing ourselves spiritually, it's also important to leave our family members in a good state.

Kematian merupakan saat yang sangat menyedihkan dan penuh dengan emosi. Namun, ia juga boleh dipenuhi dengan harapan dan belas kasihan. Umat Islam percaya bahawa kematian adalah pemergian dari kehidupan dunia ini, tetapi bukan akhir dari kewujudan seseorang. Sebaliknya, kehidupan yang kekal akan datang, dan kita berdoa agar rahmat Allah SWT berada bersama mereka yang telah kembali ke Rahmatullah, dengan harapan mereka akan mendapat kedamaian dan kebahagiaan kelak.

Bagaimana pula dengan keluarga atau saudara-mara yang terdekat pada saat itu? Ia sangat mudah untuk menyuruh mereka bertenang dan bersabar apabila sedang menghadapi kematian, tetapi tanpa ilmu pengetahuan dan panduan yang betul, seringkali ahli keluarga akan menghadapi masalah. Dalam sesetengah situasi, anggota keluarga akan membuat keputusan yang tidak sesuai yang boleh menyebabkan lebih banyak kesulitan.

Previously we have to marked up the fees. Example. A Qurban package worth $210 would require 300 points to claim for this package. This is because of the administrative workflow at the backend and the development fees.

So now for a Qurban package worth $210, you can use the same amount of points which is 210 points to get a Qurban package. This is what we meant by $1 to 1 point value.

Similarly for events and courses organised by Islamicevents.sg, this has also been implemented.

- Public Fee: $98 per pax or $190 for 2 pax.

- For Members: $78 per pax or you can choose to pay by 78 points that you have accumulated.

Whenever someone ask me about what I do, often I answered as such, “I help my Muslim Brothers and Sisters planned their wealth to achieve barakah in life and ensure that their families are secured when they leave this world in a manner that my God ( Allah swt ) will be pleased with them”.
