Recently, we have been hit by the news of the coronavirus that has claimed lives and infected many, the Wuhan Virus. It is actively spreading to other parts of the world and led to the lock-down of about a dozen cities in China.
The Wuhan Virus, which was named after its ground zero, was said to have been caused by the consumption of wildlife such as bats and snakes and spread when managing live bats in the poorly regulated live animal market, the Huanan Wholesale Seafood Market in Wuhan.
The social media was flooded with many different kind of reactions towards this outrageous activity in Wuhan. Some say Karma, some say inhumane, some say ignorant, some were angered and some were speechless. Meanwhile those who were affected are trying to seek sympathize and refuge from the rest of the world.
Nevertheless, we can choose to see this as ALLAH's s.w.t. reminder for HIS servants towards the importance of grasping the knowledge in the Al-Quran.
ALLAH s.w.t. has laid down the Halals and the Harams for a reason. If human can transcend everything, so where is the line between the Creator and the Creation??
ALLAH s.w.t. also higlighted the importance of cleanliness and purification. If these are not important why does purification become central to the Faith??
Thus, what we can do now, apart from taking the necessary precautions, is to bring out the power of DUA', supplication, and the power of SUJUD, prostration, to ask ALLAH s.w.t. for HIS help and protection. Ultimately, ALLAH s.w.t. is the only ONE who can change the situation.
Here are some Dua' that you would want to consider practising:
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.
Reciting Surah Al-Fatiha, Al Ikhlaas, Al Falaq, An Nas, Ayatul Kursi as many times as u can.
"Whoever recites it three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity before evening, and whoever recites it three times in the evening will not be overtaken by any calamity before morning." [Abu Dawud 4/323, At-Tirmidhi 5/465, Ibn Majah 2/332]
Nevertheles, the whole Al-Quran is a Syifa', the source of healing, for Allah's s.w.t. servants. We ought to believe in the Al-Quran and constantly read it to heal the soul from any "diseases". Because only then Allah s.w.t. will help us with other diseases.
Anyway, apart from the supplications, you could also go an extra mile by doing the 2 rakaat Sunnah prayer such as the Hajat prayer and Tahajjud prayer. Allah s.w.t. is always waiting for His servants to talk to Him in the Sujud, prostration. This is the intimate time between the Servant and his Ultimate.
"O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good - that you may succeed." [Al-Hajj: 77]
