Guide us to the straight path - the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked (Your) anger or of
those who are astray. Ameen.
1. Every step you take towards the prayer is a sadaqah
Abu Hurairah r.a. reported that the Messenger of Allah s.a.w. said :
“On every person’s joints or small bones (i.e. fingers and toes), there is sadaqah (charity) every day the sun rises. Doing justice between two people is sadaqah; assisting a man to mount his animal, or lifting up his belongings onto it is sadaqah; a good word is sadaqah; every step you take towards prayer is sadaqah; and removing harmful things from pathways is sadaqah.” [Al-Bukhari & Muslim]
2. Quenching someone’s thirst is a big Sadaqah
Sad bin Ubadah said:”I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what charity is best?’ He said: ‘Giving water to drink.'” [Sunan Ibn Majah 3684]
3. Enjoining good on others is a Sadaqah
The Prophet s.a.w. said, Enjoining, all that is good is a Sadaqah.” [Bukhari 6021]
4. Removing something harmful from the road is a Sadaqah
Abu Hurairah r.a. reported that the Messenger of Allah s.a.w. said :

5. Spending on your family is a sadaqah
The Prophet s.a.w. said, “When a Muslim spends something on his family intending to receive Allah’s reward it is regarded as Sadaqa for him.” [Bukhari 5351]
6. Your honesty is a Sadaqah
Allah’s Messenger s.a.w said, “There is a Sadaqah to be given for every joint of the human body; and for every day on which the sun rises there is a reward of a Sadaqah for the one who establishes justice among people.” [Bukhari 2702]
7. Smile! It’s sunnah as well as sadaqah!
And, the Prophet s.a.w. said, “Smiling in your brother’s face is an act of charity” [At-Tirmidhi]
8. Sharing your knowledge is a Sadaqah
Narrated Abu Umamah. The Prophet s.a.w. said: A learned person is as much above a worshipper as I am above the least of you. He added: Allah, His angels and all those in Heavens and on Earth, even the ants in their hills and the fish in the water, call down blessings on those who instruct people in beneficial knowledge. [Tirmidhi No. 422]
