Ramadhan is just around the corner. Let's take some time to revise some of the basic manners we should observe during Ramadhan.
First and foremost, when it comes to Ramadhan, the first thing that will pop into our minds is the Bazaar Ramadhan, the food part of cause. It is during Ramadhan that people tend to waste alot of food. Why? This is due to their Nafs or desire of wanting everything for breaking Fast or for the sake of satisfying their craving. Or simply do not like the menu that has been prepared by their
parents.
But this is not how our beloved Prophet s.a.w. treated food.
Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. never found fault with food. If he liked it, he ate it. If he disliked it, he left it. [Bukhari, Muslim]
Food is a blessing from Allah s.w.t. We must never complain about the food on our table. If we do not like the food we should not complain. If we are not thankful to Allah s.w.t., He may take away His blessings. Many people do not have any food to eat. They have to search in bins or beg for food.
Thus, it is not wrong to buy the foods at Bazaar Ramadhan. It is not wrong to satisfy the craving. It is not wrong to have that mood swing over the menu that our parents prepared. As long as we do not waste food. We do not complain. We learn how to control the Nafs. And the most important thing is we do not forget to be thankful to Allah s.w.t. for the blessing He has
given us for the day, Insyallah we will be on thr right path on putting on the spirit of Ramadhan.
