From Covid-19 Circuit Breaker to Work-From-Home to the Hightened Alert Phase 2, all has led me to discovering new ways of acquiring knowledge.
From the normal norm of indulging myself with the characters in fiction books and e-books, I moved on to watching and listening to breaking and lastest news on the television while moving my fingers on the keyboard. I was up to date for a moment. Starting to get to know what are currently happening to the world. Encountering with issues that have not been fully address or being neglected by the world. Realising how ignorant I am about this world and how much that
I have left out. These had let me to alot of whats, whys, hows and eventually led me to get moving and do some research.
The fact that there cannot be any dining out and any gatherings made me bring myself back to reading to find the answers to all my whats, whys, hows. Now the genre changed. I looked for non-fiction ones. Again, the answers to my whys and the informations that I gained left me in awe, left me speechless, left me full of emotions. But after awhile, I got bored with reading although the urge of wanting to know more is still strong.
So I talked to a friend on the growing interest I had to learn more but not through reading. This is when I moved on to watching documentaries which out of all, is my most favourite way of acquiring knowledge, thanks to this friend of mine.
So he recommended me my first ever documentary, "Joanna Lumley's Silk Road Adventure" and it is a mind-blowing documentary I tell you.
It is about a journey of exploration along the historic Silk Road route, travelling from Venice to the border of China through vibrant cities and dramatic landscapes. The ancient Silk Road enabled trade between East and West, with goods, technology and culture transferred throughout China, the Arab world and into Europe from centuries before the Common Era. Subhanallah, Masyaallah and Allahuakhbar were the only words that I uttered while encountering the new
discoveries through this documentary.
I continued following a few other series of Joanna Lumley and again it left me in awe and speechless about the world that Allah s.w.t. created
and how much of Ni'mah that Allah s.w.t. has granted to us and yet we are not appreciating and grateful towards it.
There are other documentaries that I watched and currently watching among them "72 Dangerous Places to Live", "Jejak Rasul", "72 Dangerous Animals Asia", "Dirty Money", "Haramain Backpackers" and many others.
In conclusion, do not stop yourself from acquiring knowledge. Go out there and find the best mean that you can use in acquiring these knowledge. You will feel great while discovering and most importantly, you will realise how great Allah s.w.t. is.
Meanwhile, do look through our list of upcoming events. You never know if the answer to your curiosity can be answered through our events. May Allah s.w.t. give you the guidance in what ever that you are searching for!! Ameen!!
