Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is still going on and is left with a few more days before its closing ceremony. Since the commencement of the opening ceremony, we have seen alot of unexpected turn of events to the results.
We witnessed the favourite athletes were eliminated early. We witnessed the famous athletes withdrawing due to mental health. We witnessed the experienced being disqualified. We witnessed the underdogs taking the stage. We witnessed 2 athletes mutually agree to share one gold medal for the same event.
One thing that these remind me is, the concept of Tawakkul, having complete trust or reliance in Allah s.w.t. For all affairs, Allah s.w.t is capable, sufficient and knowing so we should rely on him alone. Whether you are at the top or at the bottom, if Allah s.w.t. says "Kun Fa Ya Kun", Be! And it is, it will happen no matter what.
A Muslim should have a feeling of deep dependence on Allah s.w.t. because nothing in this world happens without his will or his knowledge. This is a core principle of Islam and if you see things that way then you will realize only through constant communication with Allah s.w.t. through prayers and supplications would you be able achieve any success in this world or in the hereafter.
When you can say to yourself I have done my part to the best of my capability, the rest is up to Allah s.w.t I guarantee you will feel a sense of calmness and peace. You have no control over the outcome, from here it’s in Allah’s s.w.t hand. If it is was destined for you that is great, if it isn’t than maybe Allah s.w.t has something better planned for you.
We can never know and that’s part of life.
For those who have trust in Allah they are on a path for success and victory.
And I believe, those Muslim athletes who are participating in the Olympics, they too are currently putting their faith in Allah s.w.t. after months of preparation. May Allah s.w.t. ease their journey in achieving success. Ameen.
From Surah Imran:
إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا ۗ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
122. When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their ally; and upon Allah the believers should rely.
