May you be in the best of health and iman. Alhamdulillah we are able to write to you again here. We are in one of the busiest period of the year. Usually before Eiduladha arrives 15th October 2013, there are many tasks to complete.

For those who are embarking on Hajj, we pray that you will have a safe journey to perform this rukun Islam and may Allah swt grant you Hajj Mabrur. For others we pray for you too that you will too get to perform this rukun in the future, insyallah.

What's going on at Islamicevents?

The team is now currently in the process of expansion and firming up the Events Team as we plan to develop more events and courses in the new Islamic calender. Don't be surprise that we will have events that will be scheduled and promoted 3-4 months in advance. With this habit in place, we hope that other organisations will follow and not consider just 1 month or having last minute marketing /promoting their events. In other words we will want them to also re-consider how they will plan for their events / courses.

This will allow you ( knowledge seekers) to have more time to make the decisions and allowing you to allocate your funds accordingly.

Talking about Funds..

We do receive many calls for reservation and payment to be made later when you receive your pay. As our system is on a first come first serve basis, reservations don't apply (seriously). Even if you have book and not paid, the seat will be given to the person who confirm their payments.

We would like to share with you this tip - Having the "Education Jar" to help you overcome this problem. So that you will constantly have the funds to pay for courses and events.

This Education Jar - can be a bottle or a box that you keep at home. So whenever you receive your Salary, ensure that you allocate a percentage of your money into this Education Jar.

Example. A salary of $1500 a month.

Can you allocate $50 a month for this. So imagine just setting aside $50 for a month, you would already have $600 a year to invest in Education. Constantly keep the jar filled monthly and insyallah you will have no problem signing up for courses / events / classes.

Say in October there is an Arabic Class that you wish to sign up for. It costs $350. If you have been saving, this would already cover it without waiting for your next salary.

So we hope this tip will help you in planning your finances and investing in Education. Remember the "Education Jar!"

** Note that this tip is not only for Islamic events, can be used for other classes/events too. It's high time we get ourselves organised and plan well for the future.

THE SINGAPORE MUSLIM YOUTH DEBATE

When was the last time, you've seen this spunky youths come out on stage and debate about current issues?

Organised by YODA ( Youth of Darul Arqam ), they have gathered participants from the Madrasahs, Universities and also youths form PRAXIS ( Mendaki & AMP Youths).

Tomorrow at Masjid Mydin, will be the semi - finals for this event. So don't miss this rare chance to see our youths outwit each other with words, intellect, drama and charisma.

Finals will be next Saturday, 28th of September, 2pm to 5pm @ Masjid Sultan Auditorium.
