A fun run will be organised on 09 February 2014. This is intended to be a fun run for Muslim women (Muslimah) and their female friends. The event is organised by POPWOW and co-hosted by YAMEEN and GRUNDY Sports Supplies. Official sports apparel retailer is UMMAH and PEACHYPIXX PROD is the official media coverage company.

The objective of organizing the run is to encourage fellow muslimah to participate in sports and fitness and engage in an active lifestyle. The intention is to nullify the common belief that health and fitness is a chore. They should not feel restricted by the hijab (head scarf) and to raise awareness of the unlimited variety of activities they can engage in. This is a good platform for da’wah and a great opportunity to spread and share our amanah as a Muslim with regards to being health conscious.

The target group: Female aged 18 and above.

The run will be for 5km and the categories would be as follows:

$35 Individuals : 300 participants
$105 Group of 4: 80 participants (40 teams of 4 runners) SOLD OUT
$300 Teacher-Student Team for madrasah : 50 participants (10 teams of 5 runners)
$160 Organisation: 100 participants (10 teams of 10 runners)

Finishers would receive a WOW Run ’14 towel, while prize money and hampers would be awarded to top three finishers of the various categories. This is to avoid wastage and promote environmental friendly initiatives. The towel can be used again for future sports activities.
