Alhamdulillah we thank Allah for gifting us another week to enjoy His Blessings, seek His Forgiveness and struggle against our nafs. We also thank him for our new office space that we will start operating in from 1st February 2014 onwards. We'll be located at 318B King George's Avenue, Singapore 208563. We seek your humble du'as for the new space and for our continued success inshaAllah!

It is the long weekend and many of us, if we haven't already gone, will be leaving for a short holiday. As the traffic on the roads increase, do remember to stay safe, don't drive while sleepy/tired, and read the necessary supplications while in your various vehicles. Don't forget to be a Muslim on the road - smile, give way, signal etc. Allah is always watching! :)

Aid to Syrian Refugees in Turkey

The conflict in Syria has resulted in over a million refugees in Turkey, most of them women & children. A 3-man team from Singapore went to Southeast Turkey to witness their condition and situation. The large numbers means that a lot of resources are needed to keep them safe, warm and in good health. The Aid to Syrian Refugees in Turkey (ASRIT) aims to raise $500,000 by the end of 2014.

ASRIT is organised by SimplyIslam.sg and MEX (The Muslim Expatriate Network), a division of AMP (Association of Muslim Professionals). They are working closely with Kim Se Yokmu, the largest humanitarian organisation in Turkey for this project.

Other companies such as Ameemoo are also doing their bit for charity by selling pre-loved shawls and channelling all sales to the ASRIT fundraiser.

Faraidh - The First Knowledge to be Lifted

Prophet Muhammad (S) exhorted us not only to learn but also to teach the knowledge of faraidh (knowledge of inheritance laws) to others. He further declared that the knowledge of faraidh to be half of knowledge and the first knowledge to be lifted; and that there will come a time when two people will quarrel about faraidh and they cannot find a person who can settle their dispute.
