Shariah Compliant Investment Seminar

This broadcast is sponsored by Club Ethis

Is this another Quick Rich Scheme?

If you have seen various reports of cheat cases and investments went wrong, you'll be be among the many whom would want to be careful when someone introduces to you an investment.

We were approached by Bro Munshi (the organiser and director of Club Ethis) lately that the way they do investments is very different. In fact they don't do investment rather they helped match the right investor to the right company to invest on.

What kind of investments are we looking at here?

Most of the investments Bro Munshi shared is to support our local businesses which have been going around for many years. Mostly those that have good track record of sales and returns and good sustainability strategies.

An example..

Say you know of a Makcik ("Auntie in Malay") who has this recipe of making one of the best sambal you tasted ever and you realised that this product have potential and it can be sold worldwide. Being the Makcik she only knows how to create that sambal and have been selling it at her shop for many years and have regular customers. However she too wants to grow it bigger and with no capital to start a factory to mass manufacture it, pack it, market it and so on. And here she loses the opportunity because nobody would support her and fund her endeavours.

Side track a bit...

If we recall the sirah of Rasulullah saw, he once asked of his sahabah to contribute their wealth to buy horses and weapons for war. It was then a critical time. And many of the sahabat came forward to contribute and some wanted to give away all of their wealth however Rasulullah saw did not allow that to happen as he said that part of their wealth should be left to their families as they are required to sustain themselves during those harsh periods. Only Sayidina Abu Bakar ra was allowed to give all his wealth away.

Imagine back then in a situation where there was war, the sahabats are willing to put their wealth knowing that it may not come back at all but their faith were rooted. They know exactly what they are in for and put trusts in Rasulullah saw. What if the sahabat did not contribute their wealth, can the war be fought?

Back to our point..

Similar in investments, we need to be clear what we are in for and have absolute trust in the person who is using the money to grow it back and is capable to use it responsibly.

So what Club Ethis does is to find good investments and Muslim companies that are performing and yet they still need funding to expand. They will come to you to show you the details of how exactly the money will be used when the funds are passed to these companies. Depending on the projects that the companies deal with, the returns may take 2-5 years as some projects may take longer to see results.

This investment program is using the Mudharabah concept. Where one party funds the money and the other party is responsible of managing and growing the funds. Depending on the terms of agreement, the principal amount will be paid off and if there are any profits made, it is to be distributed according to terms agreed on.

If you are keen to know more about this Syariah Compliant Investments, we would like to invite you to this seminar.
