Speaker Profile
Ustaz Shaaban Hashem originated from Egypt. He holds an Honours Degree in Syariah & Law from the University of Al-Azhar, Egypt.
Shaaban Hashem has more than 10 years of experience in teaching Arabic Language to non-Arabic speakers and almost 10 years in teaching Syariah. He was previously a teacher in Madrasah Al-Irsyad and was also offered to teach Spoken Arabic and Arabic Culture at MINDEF, Ministry of Foreign Affair and International Enterprise (IE) Singapore.
He studied in Al-Azhar for 18 years before he was offered a post as an Arabic and Islamic lecturer in Al-Azhar. He is approved by the People's Association (PA) Singapore to conduct Arabic Language courses in Community Clubs. He is also recognized by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) as an Arabic and Islamic teacher in Singapore.
In Malaysia, Ustaz Shaaban has taught Arabic and Islamic subjects in a few schools and institutions such as Sekolah Agama Arab An-Nur for more than 4 years.
He has received recognition by a representative group from Kuwait for his CD entitled "Techniques of Teaching Arabic Language and Syariah". Blending the educational environment in Madrasah, out of his innovativeness and creativity, he managed to use the latest technology in his teaching. He has also been selected to conduct examinations for Secondary 4 (Thanawi Certificate) and invigilated Secondary 4 examinations under Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS).
