All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of the Universe. Peace & Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (S), his family, his companions, to the teachers that are present and that have passed on.

Assalaamualaikum ,

Alhamdulillah. Today marks the 13th of Ramadhan 1435H. We hope everything is going well so far for you. If not, our doas for you so that Allah swt will ease your burden. Our usual editor, Ameera is on leave for now. So today's article is written by the Chief Khadam - Fadzuli.

This week we hear so many sad stories happening in Ramadhan. Gaza being bombed again. Why do I say this? It's not the first time that Israel have bombed Gaza and killed innocent civilans. I remembered during my Officer training days in OCS, the rule of conduct in war that we cannot attack civilians unless the civilians are armed and attacked us first. Israel has definitely crossed the line. From the noises made in Facebook to Instagram and WhatsApp about Gaza, its not something we can ignore easily,

However it should not create hate in our hearts. Rasulullah saw didn't taught us to hate others instead he taught us to pray for our enemies so that someday Allah swt will turn their hearts and Allah swt will have mercy on them in this world and hereafter.

Yes. What they did was unforgiveable, but it does not mean that we have to hate them all our life. I know it's not going to be easy and we have to realise this is also a test for us too. To guard our tongues and fingers (that is typing) so that we do not spread lies and fitnah through assumptions made by people who are ignorant of the reality.

In truth, we do not know what Allah swt knows. For those who trully wants to help. Do the following.

1) Doa for them everytime you hear or read news about the people in Palestine.
2) Solat Hajat for them. (Solat Hajat does not need to be in congregation. You can do it alone)
3) Find channels so that you can donate to those who suffered in the battles. Don't forget we have Syria too which needs help.
4) Let's stop spreading hatred around us.

Allah swt knows what is best.

This month we are committed to help PPIS create awareness for their fundraising program.

Help Us Help Them

For more than 60 years, PPIS has been committed to serving the needs of more than 18,000 socially disadvantaged families annually by focusing on quality programmes and services for the needy especially to single mothers and reconstituted families. For our Ramadan project, we will be disbursing food vouchers and cookies to lend a helping hand to deprived families while bringing a little cheer to the less fortunate this blessed month. The uniqueness of this project is that we empower our beneficiaries by having the cookies in the hampers, prepared by the beneficiaries themselves.

PPIS, a voluntary welfare organization with Approved Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) status, runs 14 centres islandwide, which include six childcare centres, two student care centres, two family service centres, the As-Salaam Family Support Centre for single mothers, Vista Sakinah, a centre for strengthening, rebuilding and fostering resilience and tranquility in families and Inspirasi PPIS for young couples. Our beneficiaries are from the less privileged families in society and we are appealing for your support to fulfill their dreams and help them move out of the poverty cycle through education for the children and skills upgrading and support for single mothers.
