All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of the Universe. Peace & Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (S), his family, his companions, to the teachers that are present and that have passed on.

Assalaamualaikum ,

Alhamdulillah. Today marks the 20th of Ramadhan 1435H. We hope everything is going well so far for you. If not, our doas for you so that Allah swt will ease your burden. Today's article is written by the Chief Khadam - Fadzuli.

It is sad to hear bad news. Today as we woke up for Sahur and browse through the newsfeed on Facebook realising another Malaysian Airline crashed. Inalililahi wainalilahi rajiun. May Allah swt grant jannah to the Muslims on board of MH17 and may He have mercy on the Non Muslims in the hereafter.

Reflecting on this incident, it is a reminder that life is really short in this world. No matter how much we strive for in this life - the wealth, the big houses, the big cars, your family. Does it really matter when you know that Allah swt can just us take us back anytime.

So this Ramadhan, let's ask ourselves. How much have we done to gain a place in Allah swt jannah? Ultimately we all want that, but have we done our best to strive to this direction. Have we avoid what is haram and have we practised what is Sunnah (taught by Rasulullah saw)?

Allahualam and only you know yourself best.

Let's use this time to reflect and place a "niat" to put our best efforts to be a better Muslim day by day until our last breath.

The Night of Power

It is known that this special night only occurs once every year and it falls in the last 10 nights of Ramadhan. Some Ulamas says that it falls on one of the odd days - Day 21, Day 23, Day 25, Day 27 and Day 29. We cannot be sure of this. Generally we are advised to do our best ibadah in the last 10 nights.

So don't miss out on this this. After Maghrib today will be Day 21. At Masjid Sultan today there will be activities by the Ramadan Committee 1435H.

Starting with talks by our Mufti, SS Ustaz Dr Fatris Bakaram after Terawih prayers and more. You are also encouraged to go for Qiyam with your family on Saturday (tomorrow) morning.

PPIS Fundraising.

This month we are committed to help PPIS create awareness for their fundraising program.

Help Us Help Them

For more than 60 years, PPIS has been committed to serving the needs of more than 18,000 socially disadvantaged families annually by focusing on quality programmes and services for the needy especially to single mothers and reconstituted families. For our Ramadan project, we will be disbursing food vouchers and cookies to lend a helping hand to deprived families while bringing a little cheer to the less fortunate this blessed month. The uniqueness of this project is that we empower our beneficiaries by having the cookies in the hampers, prepared by the beneficiaries themselves.

PPIS, a voluntary welfare organization with Approved Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) status, runs 14 centres islandwide, which include six childcare centres, two student care centres, two family service centres, the As-Salaam Family Support Centre for single mothers, Vista Sakinah, a centre for strengthening, rebuilding and fostering resilience and tranquility in families and Inspirasi PPIS for young couples. Our beneficiaries are from the less privileged families in society and we are appealing for your support to fulfill their dreams and help them move out of the poverty cycle through education for the children and skills upgrading and support for single mothers.

Here is an example of how we helped single mothers to cope with their day to day lives.
