All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of the Universe. Peace & Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (S), his family, his companions, to the teachers that are present and that have passed on.

Assalaamualaikum ,

We hope you are in the best of health and iman.

Hajj season is over and what is next? And what's after Dzhulhijjah? If you do not know, the following month is already the new Islamic Year. We will leave 1435 Hijrah and welcome 1436 Hijrah soon.

In the newspaper today, we read about the passing of a sister whom suffered from kidney problem since 2 years ago. And she was only 21 years old. When we reflect on our own age, have we ever thought that we could just go back to Allah swt soon? Allah swt can take us back anytime. But in the time given to us, have we fulfilled our duties as Muslimin or Muslimah. Have we raised the next generations of Khalifahs, have we ensured the poor receives aid. Have we manage to do our best to read the Quran and Hadiths and understand them. Or are we just idling in the life we live in. Much reflections to do before we approach the Islamic New Year.

Eversince we came back from Surabaya, we have had back to back meetings with several organisers. The landscape of activities going on are really picking up in the community. More organisers are coming to create more value to the community insyallah.

One of the key event that we will be expecting is the visit of the great teacher from Yemen, Habib Umar Al Hafiz this coming November. Details like venue, date and time are really being refined by the organisers at the moment. We cannot reveal the organisers yet until more details are firmed.

"...On that Great Day (yaumul aakhir), the sun draws nearer from the heads of the creatures until there will be a distance of one mile so the people will sink in sweat according to their actions: The sweat will reach the ankles of some of them, others the sweat will cover their knees, some of them the sweat will reach their chest, and others will sink in their sweat.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The people will sweat so profusely on the Day of Resurrection that their sweat will sink seventy cubits deep into the earth, and it will rise up till it reaches the people's mouths and ears."

In that great situation, Allah will shade those seven kinds of people under His Shade, so ponder over their actions which entail that great reward.

THIS MOTIVATIONAL TALK will provide better understanding and motivates you to be among the 7 groups of people. Insyallah.

Organised by Qiswah, 'Stitching Lives' will reach out to all to foster inter-racial and inter-religious tolerance and harmony within our shared community

Named Stitching Lives to depict the act of helping to stitch back the lives of those uprooted and torn apart from their families and homes in the war-torn regions of Syria and Palestine, Stitching Lives is designed to provide an outlet for Singaporeans to help the innocents suffering as a result of the conflicts in war-torn Syria and Palestine.

The event will revolve around a cross-stitch mass-sewing event that will be accessible to all, without prejudice to race, religion age or gender. Participants will stitch a simple personalised message in a cross-stitch format (sewing kits will be provided). These personalised messages will share a theme of peace and hope of a better future, and will be shared amongst participants at the event.

These messages will share a similar theme of how the care and concern shared amongst Singaporeans will cross oceans and borders, and give hope to Syrian and Palestinian refugees. The target is that this simple gesture and sewing event will give birth to 5000 blankets that will provide warmth and help save lives during the harsh winter months.
