All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of the Universe. Peace & Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (S), his family, his companions, to the teachers that are present and that have passed on.

Assalaamualaikum ,

We hope you are in the best of health and iman.

Alhamdulillah. Just two weeks ago, we talked about the Islamic New Year now its already 14 Muharram. How time flies.

Just a reflection.

How long more are we able to live in this world? Although the world statistics have shown that people are living beyond 80s. i would still prefer to benchmark the age Rasulullah have lived which is 63. (Some scholars say 62). Now ask yourself this question, if I am 35 years old today, how much time do I have to do good and get into Allah's books. So 62 - 35 = 27 years more. Will that be sufficient? Allahualam. For some of us, we may not even reach 62. So let's take this time to reflect on the number of years left.

Kadangkala Allah swt berikan kami ujian demi ujian sehingga kami berfikir bahawa kami tak dapat sanggup hendak memikul beban itu.

Janganlah berputus asa. Pada setiap kesusahan ada kesenangan. Sekiranya bukan di dunia diberikan juga di akhirat nanti. Insyallah. Maka bangkitlah dari kemurungan, dari kesusahan dan yakinlah bahawa apa yang susah itu tidak akan selama-lama nya dan mari kita tingkatkan iman kita.

Organised by Qiswah, 'Stitching Lives' will reach out to all to foster inter-racial and inter-religious tolerance and harmony within our shared community

Named Stitching Lives to depict the act of helping to stitch back the lives of those uprooted and torn apart from their families and homes in the war-torn regions of Syria and Palestine, Stitching Lives is designed to provide an outlet for Singaporeans to help the innocents suffering as a result of the conflicts in war-torn Syria and Palestine.

The event will revolve around a cross-stitch mass-sewing event that will be accessible to all, without prejudice to race, religion age or gender. Participants will stitch a simple personalised message in a cross-stitch format (sewing kits will be provided). These personalised messages will share a theme of peace and hope of a better future, and will be shared amongst participants at the event.

These messages will share a similar theme of how the care and concern shared amongst Singaporeans will cross oceans and borders, and give hope to Syrian and Palestinian refugees. The target is that this simple gesture and sewing event will give birth to 5000 blankets that will provide warmth and help save lives during the harsh winter months.

A night of spiritual expression with Aashiq Al Rasul

Aashiq al-Rasul is one of Britain's most celebrated Nasheed group. Specialising in contemporary Islamic music, the group mixes contemporary tunes with classical elements to form a sound all their own. Upbeat and catchy, the band dives into their repertoire of songs with vigour and energy, with strong fast beats driven by a circle of drums and percussion instruments. Yet, when the moment calls for it, this versatile band has the magical ability to take things down a notch and let their remarkable singing voices take centre-stage in acapella sessions.

The group's music embraces the medium of devotional music with a repertoire of classical Qasidas, Hamds, Naats Qawwali and modern Nasheeds (all Muslim devotional genres). They fuse this repertoire with rhythms that are a fusion of beats from the Indo-Subcontinent, Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean. Their lyrics carry a mix of English, Arabic, Urdu, Punjabi and French languages.

Now into their 15th year of performing, Aashiq al-Rasul has produced ten albums over the years, as well as been featured in compilations such as Stop The War Coalition and Yusuf Islam's Mountain of Light. Their latest album, Pilgrim, is described as “cosmic journey through life”.

Aashiq al-Rasul has toured throughout the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Canada, USA, Algeria, Caribbean and Malaysia. They have also performed at several prestigious music festivals including the Glastonbury Music Festival. Their performances has often left audiences mesmerised by its spiritual force.

Over the years, the group have performed with the Sabri Brothers, Sami Yusuf, Yusuf Islam, Zain Bhika, Muhammad Al-Husayan, Noor, Outlandish, 786, SHAAM, Khaleel Muhammad, Nazeel Azmi, Hamza Robertson and many others. They also assisted RAIHAN (Malaysia) in producing its popular Allahu track, and provided backing vocals for Zain Bhika's “Wedding Song”.
