All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of the Universe. Peace & Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (S), his family, his companions, to the teachers that are present and that have passed on.

Assalaamualaikum ,

We hope you are in the best of health and iman.

How have you been? We hope the holidays have kept you occupied with family activities. Sometimes we just need to cast aside our work and focus on our family. In yesterdays khutbah, it talks about taking care of our parents especially those whom are very elderly. In a sahih hadith, Rasulullah SAW mentioned about this man, Uwais al Qarani - a faithful son to his sick mother. He asked the companions to find this man and ask him to make doa for them.

To add on, how do we get our children to be filial to us when we are at age when we are not able to walk and even bathe ourselves. In todays day and age, we are occupied with work, work, facebook and many other distractions and often forget about what really matters - Family. Sometimes its just about being there for family.

So we hope you use the next 12 days to focus back on family and be there for them. Take time off from facebook and do what it takes to what really matters in our lives. All the best.
