A family play an enormously important role in the child’s social and emotional development. The child spends most of his or her time learning by being with the family. It is where closest relationships are built, allowing the child to express his or herself. Nevertheless, the financial situation of a family should not impede the child from achieving his or her aspirations. AMP’s Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme (AFYS) aims to encourage self-reliance among disadvantaged families through economic empowerment and socio-educational programmes so that they can create a better future for themselves. Tune in to MediaCorp Radio Station WARNA 94.2FM this Friday (13 February 2015) from 8.00pm to 10.00pm, where DJs Dyn and Shaik will be speaking to a family under AMP's Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme who will be sharing their struggles after they lost their mother to a serious illness, leaving the father in a trying position in managing the family.
