Delay the Aqiqah

We have received a few cases where the child was born prematurely and the parents had to settle a hefty bill on the hospital bills as the child needs to be taken care of at hospital. Due to the financial difficulty or time they were not able to Aqiqah for their child during the sunnah dates – 7th, 14th or 21st day after the child is born.

Although it is encourage to perform Aqiqah during the Sunnah dates but its not compulsory. Allah swt knows best your situation. Focus on the health care of the new born as that should be a higher priority. Delay Aqiqah then. The survival of your child is much more important now hence don’t worry or be anxious about not doing this. Aqiqah can still be done later.

What if all the money have already been distributed but they miss the Hajj Badal portion?

According to MUIS website.http://www.muis.gov.sg/cms/oomweb/oom_faq.aspx?id=14592

When one passes away, the following order is required to the fortune left by the deceased. According to priority.

1) Settle funeral and burial matters.

2) Resolve charges or property borrowed from others.

3) Settle all oustanding debts to human beings and debts to Allah swt - Zakat, Hajj E Badal (if one have not performed Hajj), Fidya (If one was not able to fast during Ramadhan).

4) Settle items mention in deceased Will ( only 30% of wealth left after 1,2 & 3 )

5) The remaining amount is then Faraidh. Distributed to family members.

Do share with your family members and educate them in this matter.

Hajj Badal is third in priority even before being willed and distributed to family (Faraidh), so what happens if the money has been distributed out and already used?

It's best that the family members come together and discuss this matter and pool the money back to pay this debt.

Hence to repeat again, the amount that was left after paying all the expenses in 1 & 2 needs to be sufficient.

Are you on top of our mind? Or is your competitor doing so?

What’s more important is that whenever someone asks us for a service, we often have to look around and ask people about it. By being part of us, we would know that your organisation / company / individual provide such services which we can help to refer. You will be on top of our minds.

Example. If someone ask for a Tok Kadi. Will you be the first name that we will mention? Similarly if someone were to recommend a Mak Andam or a Message Therapist, will you be the first in our mind to refer to?
