Shine the Light of Hope
More than a year ago, Mdm Yana (not her real name) had to leave her job to care for her children. Two of them were born with genetic disorder, which affected their immunity, while one has a hole in his heart and requires regular medical check-ups and therapy sessions.
The family depends on her husband as the sole breadwinner to support the children’s medical expenses on top of their daily expenses. Despite the high medical costs straining their household income, both Mdm Yana and her husband endeavour to ensure their family needs are met.
These are just some of what our clients under AMP’s Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme (AFYS) have gone through. While their stories may differ, their perseverance and determination to push through their adversities and to come out stronger is common to all of them.

speaking to a family under AMP's Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme (AFYS). Listen to how the family overcomes their struggles in spite of the financial and medical issues.
AFYS assists these families to regain their independence and self-reliance by equipping them with skills, helping their children through a variety of socio-educational schemes, programmes and activities, and most of all, AFYS helps to strengthen their family unit.
