Parents play an important role in a family. They are their children's first friends, teachers, and role models. We always hear about the rights of parents in Islam, but how often do we hear about the rights that children hold over their parents?
The greatest gift one can give to their children is discipline and good morals. A child is a pure being entrusted to the parents by Allah. Parents will be responsible for this trust on the Day of Judgement. If parents are careful about disciplining their children, and equipping them with moral, ethical, basic and essential Islamic knowledge, they will have elevated their children to high ranks both in this world and the Hereafter.
