Newsletter: Seeking Provisions and Striving For It

Published: Mon, 10/16/17

Assalamualaikum Wr Wb,

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Thank you for subscribing to our mailing list. InshaAllah this email finds you and your family in the best of health and imaan. May the peace and blessings of Allah SWT be upon you and your family, inshaAllah.

Hold on Only to Allah
‘Umar (RA) said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say, ‘If you were to rely on Allah as He should be relied on, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out early in the morning hungry and return in the evening full.’” – Narrated by at-Tirmidhi

In this hadith, it is also evident that when a person relies on Allah SWT in a true sense, he takes on the means that will then lead to the result. In other words, he seeks for provisions and strives for it. The one who says, “I do not take the means because I am depending on Allah,” has gone astray and this is not correct. The one truly dependant on Allah is he who takes the means necessary while relying on Allah Almighty simultaneously.

And for this reason, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out early in the morning hungry and return in the evening full." The birds go out to seek the provision of Allah SWT and do not remain in their nests.  Hence, you must take the necessary means which Allah has legislated for you to seek sustenance from a permissible source; such as, agriculture or business or any other profession (provided it is halal) that provides a means of sustenance.

As muslims, we should depend on Allah, may He be Exalted, with a true reliance. There is no creature on the face of the earth except that upon Allah is its sustenance, even the birds in the sky.  There is nothing that holds them up in the air except Allah and nothing sustains them except Allah.  Every creature on the earth from the smallest, like a small ant, to the biggest, like an elephant, depends on Allah for their sustenance.

You should be aware, and beware of directing your whole attention to matters of provisions, but instead trust in your Lord's promise and in His providing for you. As Allah says [in the Qur’an, verse 11:6]: "And there is no creature on earth but its sustenance depends on Allah, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage."

Remember that you are among those who walk the earth, so occupy yourself with what He has commanded you in lieu of the provision that He has already guaranteed for you. Seek the sustenance while depending on Allah, and He will make it easy for you.

Islamic Funeral And Death Rites Course

Death is a very painful and emotional time, yet one that may be filled with hope and mercy. Muslims believe that death is a departure from the life of this world, but not the end of a person's existence. Rather, eternal life is to come, and we pray for Allah's mercy to be with the departed, in hopes that they may find peace and happiness in the next to come.

That is for the person who will face death. But how about the family or relatives? Its very easy to say stay calm and be strong but without the proper knowledge and guidance many a times that will not be the case. In some incidences, members of family breaks down and make irrational decisions which may cause more problems.

If this situation arises in your family, would you know what to do?

INFAQ: Infaq Mutton ( All year round )

Mission: To support mosques and muslim organisations to provide halal mutton for their events / majlis.

Throughout the year we have had requests from various organisations for sponsorship of mutton and often we have to reject them because we could only raise funds only during certain periods like Ramadan, or when we have Aqiqah Australia projects where we could bring in the mutton from Australia.

To make this effort more sustainable and for us to be able to respond to requests, we have decided to run this project all year around.

This would also provide avenues for the community to continue supporting various events throughout the year.

For Infaq Mutton ( All year round ), we will only raise funds for Frozen Mutton, as it is easier to acquire and cheaper to purchase compared to Fresh Meat.

You may sponsor the following:

1kg - $18
2kg - $35
5kg - $85
10kg - $165
18kg - $295
36kg - $580
50kg - $780
100kg - $1500
200kg - $2800

Prices above will include butchers cuts and delivery to beneficiaries. Banking and transactions fees are also included.
