Assalammualaikum wr wb,

Firstly, we really like to thank everyone for the suggestions and events you submitted! Excellent suggestions indeed! Syukran syukran! Here's whats new we implemented in the site, from your suggestions!

1) Solat timings. We have put in place, the updated solat daily timings for Singapore in the main page. We hope this would be useful for everyone!!

prayertimes

2) Latest commentary section. See what others say about the events happening in Singapore, conveniently located in the main page!

comments

Add to the comments, or post new ones... just go to the specific event to the bottom of the page and add it in!

3) Surf IslamicEvents.sg on you mobile! Wireless@SG is everywhere nowadays, so get your solat timings and check what's happening in the nearest masjid around you by surfing www.islamicevents.sg on your mobile (phone or laptop)! IslamicEvents.sg is truly cross-browser and mobile compatible to the inch, so use any browser/medium you like!

4) Other salient things you may not noticed cos there's a whole lot more we improved in terms of speed and user interface. You have to check it out yourself :)

And we're still improving the site! Among them in the works...

1) IslamicEvent.sg Dictionary. Ever clicked on an event and don't even know what "Halaqah" or "Tajwid" means? Be clueless no more as we'll be furnishing layman's terms on those Islamic terms, on the event page and whole site itself in an easy-on-the eye kinda way.

2) Locate your Masjid! We're also implementing a seperate Map Locater to allow you to find your mosques easily via our Google Maps system.

3) And a whole lot of other stuffs...!! ( We'll leave it for the next newsletter..Can you tell we're excited already? :) )

We can't wait for our next update! In the meantime, dont forget to check out this week's highlights and classes!

This week's highlights (click on icon for more details.)

Especially for married couple, PPIS "Titian Harapan" series gives invaluable tips and advice on family life. This week's is on "Managing conflict in the household". Check out their blogspot, very heartwarming la :)

The next event not to be missed is the "Malam Kebudayaan Islam" or "Islamic Culture Night" by Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah and the Religious Rehabilitation Group. My favourite group, Quadravox, and other great nasyid groups will be there. There are other activities happening plus tausiahs from renowned ulamas here. All these for a good cause!

See multi-coloured Muslims from all over Singapore in our next event! Think Muslims in Singapore are Malays, Indians, Chinese and Eurasians? Come to the "One World" family carnival by Darul Arqam Singapore and find out! All in a spirit of harmony, this carnival brings out the true spirit of colour-blindness in Islam!

The next event is something very different. We had a double-take on this event but in the end, we felt this is very relevant as we're looking at uplifting the Muslim community holistically. We wish to encourage all our bros and sisters to sign up for "Jihad Dalam Bisnis" and take this opportunity to learn from more experience business people during this event.

jihad
