Assalammualaikum wr wb, We hope you are in the best of health and iman. This week we'll touch on about Zakat and the several key programs that will be going on during the weekend. Lost About Zakat?Have you paid your Zakat yet? Do you know how to calculate your zakat? Calculate Zakat? Eh why do we need to calculate Zakat? I thought we only need to pay a certain amount for Zakat. When I was younger I didn't know about this too. Only recently that I found out that there's more to it. So don't worry, everyone have to start and learn from somewhere.. Especially for those whom have have been working they have to pay off their Zakat for their Assets too. The Assets portion can be slightly more complex than the normal Zakat Fitrah and you may find it difficult to calculate by yourself. So let us break it down to the most simplest forms. Tasmiun @ TakashimayaThe purpose of this Tasmiun Session is to encourage everyone and anyone to read the Quran anywhere and everywhere except the toilet. I think I've heard this being quoted over and over during the third Tasmiun session last Saturday. Even I did mention it in my speech at Takashimaya as I believe that the objective of this session was very clear and those who attended were really the DARING ONEs. Tongues & Hearts 08 - Huddle Up! @ Orchard Ngee Ann City People looked at and watched us in curiosity at what we were doing in the centre 'stage' of Ngee Ann City courtyard but by His Mercy, we shut our eyes, ears and hearts from the distractions around us and concentrated on listening to the verses of Allah; and neither did we get into trouble with security or any other trouble for that matter. Helping the PoorMasjid Darul Aman together with Kg Ubi-Kembangan CC will be giving away food and goods to the needy this Saturday, 20 September 08, from 3pm to 5pm for the residents in Eunos Crescent. The mosques is in need of volunteers to help out deliver the food and goods to the various houses. We hope that you can come forward to help out.
