Assalammualaikum wr wb,

Dear ,

This week we discovered new portals run by Muslims and we raise another issue about the casino for discussions. We are really glad to see other Muslim sites growing as it also indicates trends that this niche area is worth exploring.

We like to thank our commenters and contributers for giving us excellent ideas. Some of them will be out for discussion in the next few weeks. Insyallah. At the same time we would like to congragulate Tzu Chi 165 Pte Ltd for getting 400 participants to attend the ESQ workshops at Batam.

Very little events this week though as the organisations are recuperating from the Maulid events earlier in the month. We were also informed of a massive event coming this April. So keep on reading..

nasibriyani

We were nudged by the web owners/administrators back last year about this exciting FORUM site but back then we were too consume of our own activities to really look into their site in detail. Also there wasn't much activity there then. So it has been a while now and they have grown quite a bit with members participating actively in that site.

Similar to most forums out there where members are allowed to post questions and discussed but they have a strict rule on self promotions. They don't really allow you to market your businesses there. So its purely for conversations, debates and sharings.

Currently we saw a few familiar names like Bro Mehboob and a few more there too. So why not join in to share your thoughts there too.

So recently NasiBriyani.com launched a blog competition. Its a simple competition where our Muslim bloggers are required to write about NasiBriyani.com and stand to win Cash Prizes or FREE Advertising slots on their websites.

We also do not know why its called NasiBriyani.com but we find the name catchy!!

Is this competition to Islamicevents.sg? Well maybe but why then are we promoting them? Good question. Its about sharing. Someday people from that site will spill over here too. So we always look for ways to be in a win win situation yah. Isn't that how Islamic Businesses should be?

By the way, there are so few Islamic sites in Singapore. There isn't a need to monopolize the market hence its better to share and grow together. If you do own a Muslim portal of sort do let us know! We'll write about you too.

Anyway do check out their Blog Competition here.

Reports/Discussions

Banning Muslims from the Casinos

This is a follow up discussion to the previous dicussion for "Do we need a FATWA for the IR?". Hence some agreed to choosing the idea of how the Malaysians did it, so we gave it a thought. In fact its not as simple as we think.. So let's discuss here.

Special Event

Well this event is not happening this week but this is going to be the biggest Islamic event yet to happen this year. Estimating about more than 13,000 in audience and there will big names coming for it.

And with that numbers the only two places which we think can hold that many people is the EXPO or a very big stadium. Hence the Kallang Stadium was chosen in this case.

So what's going on?

So far the information we received is that they will be rallying the Ulamas from Singapore, a Nasyid Singer from Indonesia by the name, OPICK, and well known soccer players to be part of the massive event.

More information will be up soon once we receive more news on it.

FEATURED PROGRAMS

Being Muslim and Its Challenges' Lecture Series

Much has been said about the importance of education in Islam but we need to seriously and sincerely ask whether our approach towards this is right: Is it actually correct? How should we learn?” Many would concur that the main problem of the ummah is the lagging of the Muslims in their current education. However: what is really education from the Islamic perspective? What is the aim and objective in Islamic education? These are some of the issues that will be covered in the talk, insha-Allah.

Come and join this blessed occasion and hear the perspectives of one who is traditionally-trained and who has been involved in Islamic Dawah & Education since 1980s.
