Assyakirin Mosques requires a new carpets for the praying areas and they need your support too. Through this project, they hope to raise up to $50,000 and proceed with this by late June 2009.

Appreciating the Night Sky

As part of an international community in the Astronomy field, Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah will be commemorating 100 Years of Astronomy by taking part in the ‘Shell Astro Challenge 2009Ù.

This event, which is part of the International Year of Astronomy by UNESCO, is organized by Shell and Singapore Science Centre. The objective of this challenge is to allow students as well as the public to experience the beauty of night sky by observing them through a telescope. On a perfect weather, they will be able to enjoy gazing at the Moon, Saturn and Stars.

Visitors may view our exhibition and play games that are prepared by Aljunied Astro Club during the event. A Food Bazaar held at the Canteen will be opened throughout the event. Visitors will also receive door gifts (while stocks lasts).
