Dear
,

Alhamdullilah. The first week of Ramadhan has passed in a swift of an eye. We hope you are doing well in this great month.

Firstly We would like to thank Bro Shah ( our former intern) for helping us upload over 140 events this month within the short period. Bless him for all the hard work. We really appreciate the help.

Ramadhan is also the month where we can see delicacies being spread out in the bazaars and the mosque. Food like Deng-Deng, kebab, Ramly Burgers are sold everywhere from Geylang to Muscat Street and even at Coffee shops. So strange but its true.

Ramadhan also bring Muslims from many parts of the world to set up shop such as the one at Muskat Street Bazaar where an Imam from China is selling his calligraphy work and at the same Customising words according to your wishes. Turkish guys having their Kebabs and so on. We can really see the colors and flavours of Ramadhan.

This month is also the time where we are really going to spend a lot. "Ooh because its Ramadhan and Hari Raya is coming, I might as well spend as much as I want". Remember that "Do not spend more than what you earn". This is the universal law of money management and we hope that you do take up this advice else you'll easily run into trouble later on. If you need more advise on savings especially in this time of the day, please check out SIMPAN Challenge.

So , please read on.

Simpan or Not to Simpan?

Have you been saving enough? Especially in this month and next, definitely more money is expected to get out of your pockets am I right? How would you ever save in times like this.

The Financial Motivater, Abang Abu think otherwise and have recently launched the "Simpan Challenge". This campaign started by just a simple idea to SAVE at least $1000 per month. Well if you cannot reach that amount its alright! The idea is to learn to be frugal and learn to save as much as possible. Even $100 of savings is better than $0.

Islamicevents.sg will be taking part in this challenge and have officially sponsored part of the Simpan Challenge Booklet. ( Amount cannot be revealed here ) :)

The campaign will officially start on the 1st of September and those who are participating in this campaign will be receiving 30 great tips to save via Email.

Over 600 people have registered! Do you wish to save more money?

For more information, please visit www.abangabu.com

You can also view other online sites and companies that are participating in this Challenge! So exciting. :)

Are you Out There? Go Mobile!

Are you out there and not too sure what's the time for Buka ( Break Fast ) this Ramadhan?

If you are, here's our solution for you.

If you do recall we do have our Islamicevents Mobile site. So now you can actually find out what's the prayer time, musollah locations and all the activities from your mobile phone. And this can be done anywhere in the world not just Singapore.

How to do it?

1) Go to your mobile Web Browser.
2) Just type - www.islamicevents.mobi
3) Start scrolling the contents..

To search for musollahs,
1) you can go directly to www.musollahs.com
2) Type the area that you are searching for and click search.
3) You will receive a list of prayer locations.

Insyallah in the future we can add video features for you to view Previews or Live Web Events on your mobile too.

However you need a GPRS or Wireless LAN connections ( if you are nearby ) to access.

If you are not too sure how to use the Internet via Mobile phone, do check out your Phone Manual. :)

Taken from www.ramadan.sg ( MUIS website )

For each Muslim, the advent of Ramadan brings different meanings. While there are those who welcome Ramadan with a deep passion for its benefits and blessings, there are also those who feel its burdens and difficulties and yet those welcoming it solely for the sake of the festive Hari Raya celebrations that come after Ramadan.

The diversity in response is a manifestation of the level of iman and taqwa of each individual. The fact, however, remains that Ramadan is a holy and glorious month the month of worship, the month of al-Qur an and the month to multiply manifold our acts of worship and level of iman. Indeed, Ramadan is full of wisdom and meanings.

The dawn of Ramadan should be welcomed with deep sense of gratitude and humility. Other than completing the fast of Ramadan, we should also intensify accompanying charitable deeds like sharing food with our neighbours during the breaking of fast, involving in voluntary works, performing the meritorious Tarawih and Tadarus.
