The trainer

Sister Unaiza Karim has a Masters Degree from Princes School of Traditional Arts, London. She also trained with a Master Illuminator In Istanbul, Turkey. Her work generally centres on the pages of the Holy Qur'an, which she presents with the elements of calligraphy, geometry and Islimi (arabesque), reflecting the rhythm of nature. In 2004 she was the Winner of Barakat Prize 2004 for Arts and Heritage: Ashmoleum Museum Oxford.

Her works have been exhibited in the UK and internationally. With a Distinction in her Bachelors Degree in Education, she regularly runs workshops for both children and adults, specialising in teaching arts and crafts from the east, using traditional methods and materials in a range of Traditional Islamic Arts. Unaiza is British and lives in London.
