Did you know that we have are having a Photography Competition on Ramadan.sg? Yes we do and we would love to make this annual activity too for those who love to capture Ramadan moments.

As it's a competition, attractive rewards also awaits you.. Read on for the details.

Adding to the vibrancy of the Sentuhan Ramadan Campaign this year, a Photography Competition is organised to further spread the campaign's messages. Based on the theme "Rejuvenate Ramadan with the Light of Al-Quran", participants are to capture as many moments in Ramadan related to Al-Quran. Hopefully, this will inspire individuals to celebrate the coming of Ramadan with joy and remembrance.

From the theme, participants are given the creativity to express what Al-Quran means to them, especially in the month of Ramadan. For example, it can be the celebration of khatamul Quran (completion of recitation of 30 chapters of the Al-Quran) or the experiences of a child being taught how to recite the Al-Quran by his/her mother or an Al-Quran teacher.

The competition is open to all individuals, both amateurs and professionals, between 12 to 50 years old. They must have a good photographic instinct and have a passion for storytelling. A unique element of this competition is that members of the public can vote for the submission of their choice via online voting.

Rules & Regulations

Submit ORIGINAL photos in your collection e.g. photos must not be downloaded from the Internet
Accompanying STORY must not be more than 300 words. It must capture the essence of the photo in good, standard English. The story can be in the form of prose or poem.
A complete submission consists of a photo and a story. There is no limit to the number of submissions per individual
Judges' decision is final

Online voting:

Begins Tuesday 23 August & Closes Tuesday 30 August 2011

Judging Details

Results are based on judges' choice (80%) and online voting (20%) by the public
A three-person panel of judges will be informed at a later date

Prizes

Winners stand to win prizes worth up to $1,000. The breakdown is as follows:

First prize: $300 cash + Al-Quran stylus
Second prize: $200 cash + Al-Quran stylus
Third prize: $100 cash + Al-Quran stylus
