A few updates this week.

Just a quick reminder of the Temporary Shut Down of Services

Usually during this period to around Hajj, activities in Mosque or other organisation simmers down as most of them are either focus on celebrating Eid and such.

So there will be little contents to read. In the past years we have usually use this time period to shut down our site temporarily for major changes.

Please note the shut down period for this year will be from 23rd September to 24th October 2011.

What will be effected?

Main page of Islamicevents.sg, Musollah Listings, Halal Listings, Our Online Shop & Editorial Section. This Weekly or Bi Weekly Newsletter will also be shut down.

Events listed at our the following mosques website - Assyakirin, Malabar & Al Istiqamah will not be effected.

Amidst 'Eid Visitings...Take a Breather, Do Your Prayer

Assalamu'alaikum wr. wb. brothers and sisters,

How's your 'Eid visitings coming along? I hope it has been a fruitful one with many a silaturrahim being rekindled and family members reunite with one another.

Syawal is a great month where Muslims celebrate "going back to their fitrah", where Muslims go back to their natural beings, and this includes families, relatives and friends which make up someone's "fitrah". Without family, good or bad, we may not be the person that we are today.

"The Believers are but a single Brotherhood: So make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers; and fear Allah, that ye may receive Mercy." - Al-Hujurat, 10

So visit and make peace, and reconcile with your brothers and sisters in which you may be having conflicts with.

However, as we visit and rekindle with our family members and friends, let's not forget one thing that has been made obligatory upon us - our 5-time everyday visits with Allah s.w.t, that is our daily prayers.

Undangan beri peluang perluas rangkaian dengan peniaga muda serata dunia

SEORANG usahawan setempat, Encik Fadzuli Wahab, telah diundang pemerintah Amerika Syarikat untuk mewakili Singapura dalam sebuah program keusahawanan di negara tersebut.

Semasa di sana, Encik Fadzuli, 29 tahun, berpeluang berkongsi pengalaman, membina rangkaian bersama usahawan muda dari serata dunia, serta bertemu ahli perniagaan, pegawai pemerintah serta pemimpin masyarakat sivil Amerika.

Encik Fadzuli, yang memulakan gerbang dalam talian IslamicEvents.sg, pernah dinamakan akhbar ini sebagai antara 50 individu yang dijangka mewarnai 2011.

Beliau akan terbang ke Amerika pada 24 September ini untuk melawat empat kota - Washington DC, Phoenix, San Francisco dan New York - selama tiga minggu bagi program tersebut.

Program Keusahawanan dan Inovasi Perniagaan itu adalah sebuah program di bawah Jabatan Negara Amerika.

Inisiatif tersebut telah diumumkan Presiden Amerika, Encik Barack Obama, di Persidangan Presiden mengenai Keusahawanan pada 2010, yang bertujuan memupuk jalinan antara pemimpin perniagaan dan usahawanan di Amerika dengan masyarakat Islam sedunia.
