Shaykh Ahmad Saad. Who is He?

Biography taken from >> http://ahmadsaad.com/bio.html

Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Saad Ash-Shafi’ie Al-Azhari Al-Hasani was born into a family of scholars whose lineage goes back to the Prophet (salla Allahu alayh wa sallam) through Sayyidna Al-Hasan ibn Ali (radia Allahu anhu) in the northern Egyptian governorate of Monofiyyah, in the Nile Delta.

Many great scholars of Islam have come from this governorate including people like Shaykh Al-Islam Ibrahim Al-Bayjouri, Imam Tajuddin As-Subki and Taqiyuddin As-Subki, Shaykh Al-Islam Ash-Shanawani and many others. As the custom of the family was to memorise Qur’an at an early age, Sheikh Saad completed the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an at the age of ten at the hands of his father and studied basic Arabic and Islamic sciences with focus on Arabic grammar and balaghah (rhetoric) before enrolling into Al-Azhar system of schools where he spent almost 17 years of his life graduating with a B.A. Honours in Islamic Studies in English.

Shaykh Saad delivered his first Khutbah at the age of 15, led his first prayer at the age of 13 and since then, he has been involved in Da’wa work and spreading traditional knowledge of Islam. Sheikh Saad toured the world as an Imam, speaker and lecturer; he visited Canada, USA, Germany, Malaysia, Sweden and settled in the UK as the Imam of North London Central Mosque.

Alongside with his academic studies, Sheikh Saad studied traditional Islamic sciences at the hands of senior scholars and specialists in Egypt, the most notable of whom is the Grand Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Ali Gom’ah. He memorised Riyad As-Saliheen of Imam An-Nawawi at the age of 15 and Al-alfiyyah of Ibn Malik at the age of 13 and committed to memory thousands of lines of poems and other poetry and prose mutun (texts) including Al-Jazariyyah, At-Tuhfah in Tajweed, Ash-Shatibiyyah in Qira’aat. Sheikh Saad also focused on Qira’aat and, by the grace of Allah, Sheikh Saad got Ijazah in the narrations of Hafs and Shubah from Asim, Warsh and Qaloon from Nafi’ and Khalaf and Khallad from Hamzah in addition to many other Tajweed texts.

Sheikh Saad holds one of the highest chains nowadays for his peers, there is 29 people between the Prophet (PBUH) and him. Amongst the Shyukh of Sheikh Saad in Qira’at are: Shaykh Dr. Ayman Suwaid of Damascus, Shaykh Mu’adh SafwatShaykh Ali An-NahhasShaykh Shibl MatarShaykh Abdel-Basit Hashim, Shaykh Abdel-Fattah Madkour (the last living student of Shaykh Ali Ad-Dabba’ and the colleague of Shaykh Al-Husari) all of Egypt.

Shaykh Saad has also got Ijazahs in the books of hadith, the musalsalat, Shafi’ie Fiqh and all books of Tafsir, Tasawwuf, Shama’il and biographies from various Shyukh. Among his Shuyukh are: the Grand Mufti of Egypt Imam Shaykh Ali Gom’ah, Shaykh Ahmed Ali As-Surti of IndiaShaykh Usamah As-Sayyid Al-Azhari of Egypt, Shaykh Muhammad Abdel-Ba’ith Al-Kittani (the muhaddith of Alexandria), Habib Ali Al-Jifri, Shaykh Muhammad Sadiq Al-Alawi, As-Sayyed Yusuf Ar-Rifa’ie, Habib Muhammad Sa’ied Al-Beidh, Shaykh Muhammad Qasim Al-Washali of Yemen, Shaykh Salman An-Nadawi of India, Shaykh Subhi As-Samurra’ie of Iraq and many others.
Shaykh Saad loves poetry and writes it frequently mainly in Arabic and sometimes in English, he teaches Shafi’ie Fiqh, Tasawwuf, Usul Al-Fiqh, `Aqeedah, `Ulum Al-Quran, Tajweed in North London Mosque. He is a father of three boys.

SNAP & DESIGN WORKSHOP

How does photography and design plays a part in the Dakwah world? Someone asked us in last week's email. We've even received emails that images are forbidden in homes and such.

Well we are here not to argue and give any fatwas because we are not qualified in the first place but we believe the Muslims will be too laid back if we were to ignore the skills that is required in this day and age.

In the past computers were not necessary at all but in today's environment, it is necessary for one to acquire this skill to remain competitive.

Here we are taking you to the next step. So what's after knowing how to use the computers?

For some it will be to learn how to use Microsoft Words, Microsoft Powerpoint for Presentations and so on. For others it would be to use the Web Browser to surf the internet, then the emails.

Now why not design and photography?

Would it be dull just to have Powerpoints that have no awesome images. Imagine the Asatizahs today if they do not upgrade their skills, I believe the Friday Prayers Slides prepared on the screen will be dull and boring and perhaps not everyone wants to read it.

Are we a community of boring people who have presenters who doesn't care about triggering our senses?

What if you could make that Powerpoints slides as Awesome as possibly with simple Image Editing softwares, wouldn't that make your presentation more interesting for your audience?

Well much said, here's the details of the workshop.

See below poster.

In this workshop we will be getting two experts, Bro Hairolz Sinan & Bro TJ Hussin to be conducting it. Both from the Photography and Design industry will show you the tips and tricks of taking awesome shots with the use of a simple Digital Camera & also to cover the basic Photoshop tools to help you in creating awesome graphic with the Photos that you have taken.

Basic Photoshop Lesson

Bro Noor Hairolz Sinan is the owner of Rolz, a wedding photographer by profession. He also owns his own studio and he is very much in love with designing. A qualified Adobe Photoshop Instructor, he has also done similar workshops through out the years.

In his session, he will cover the various basic tools that you need to know on how to use Photoshop. We can say that this is a crash course but the basics are good enough for you to already create a simple poster, name card and manipulate photos.

Photoshop is about having fun. It can be technical at the start but once you start moving those brushes and make a ugly picture into a swan, you will love it.

Some say its ADDICTIVE!

Now what do we want you to achieve by learning this?

You should be able to make images like shown below.

sample 1:

sample 2:

All above pictures are created by taking photos and manipulated with text and lightening changes in Photoshop.

Within 4 hours, you should already learn how to manipulate images, insert text, choose the right fonts and more.

How’s that for a workshop?

Now we are not over yet… besides learning to use Adobe Photoshop, we’ll also have  the short Photography class by Bro TJ Hussin.

Bro TJ Hussin started shooting photos when he was then a Mc Donald’s manager in the late 80s and early 90s. At Mc Donalds usually you would have Children’s Birthday parties and such. On those occasions, he would helped the parents out to take photos of the Kids and the family. Since then, his love for photography begin and perhaps that’s how his Studio name came about – Rich Kids Studio. And he started out with just a simple camera back then and today of course he has more sophisticated equipments.

But that’s not the point. What we are trying to share with you here is that everyone can start from using simple devices.

Its not the TOOL!! It’s the person handling the tools. So learn this well.

  • Learn the fundamentals of holding the camera
  • Learn how to stabilize the camera for perfect shots
  • Know the environment and the type of lighting required for perfect shots
  • Look to shoot at great angles.. Seriously a fat person can look thin when you shoot at the correct angle.
  • and more.

Bro TJ Hussin will take you through some theory before lunch and a practical session after that.

Can we ask you again? How’s that for a one day workshop?

if you are interested. Register early to avoid dissappointment.
