All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of all Universe. The Most Merciful and the Most Kind. Blessings be to our Prophet Muhammad saw, his family and his companions.

Assalammualaikum wr wb,

Dear ,

May you be in the best of health and iman. It's 10 more days to Ramadan. Are you excited?

If you've been following us, we are running the Ramdan.sg portal again for the third time for the last 3 years and amazingly this year we had a few months head start to plan, organise and develop proper methodologies to reach a bigger crowd this year.

So here we would like to share the MAIN events organised by the Sentuhan Ramadan Committee.

What is Sentuhan Ramadan Committee?

Sentuhan Ramadan Committee is the working or steering group that drives the Ramadan Campaign yearly. Led by an Officer in MUIS or by a Mosque Chairman. He will then assemble the various parties/partners recommended by previous Ramadan Chairmans to execute the current year's Ramadan Programs. The Leader changes from year to year.

Since the first meetings in March this year, we have then come out with various programs. Below is the poster or event line up for this year's Ramadan organised by the Sentuhan Committee and the Ramadan Youth Committee..

Can't see it, proceed to Ramadan.sg event's page.

The last one week has definitely been hectic as we approached the Launch of the Ramdan Campaign this Sunday, 5pm at Mujahidin Mosque @ Queenstown. All are welcome.

If you've been to last year's Ramadan Launch, you would have remembered this. >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlGM1lXO4dk

If you are not able to able to come, do try to catch it LIVE @ www.ramadan.sg/live. Don't miss it.

Remember it's this Sunday @ 5pm. Live streaming will start after Asar.

So what's happening?

Quranabic Lite For Your Busy Lifestyle

This week we would like to highlight a few events that are for the BUSY People.

As most of us are busy with work, school and family and many other things, we tend to have less time to learn. So to cater for the BUSY people, there are these one off Programs that you should look into and put it on your calendar.

Let's start with Quranabic Lite For Your Busy Lifestyle. Conducted in English.

The last we heard 100 seats have been snapped from the promotions on Facebook. Though Masjid Sultan can cater for 400 pax but 400 is not really a lot especially for popular programs like this. It tends to be filled up very fast. So don't wait anymore yah.

Kursus Pengenalan: Fahami Bacaan Dalam Solat

Well with the Solat Refresher Course filling up so fast, another course just announce last Sunday night had over 200 people signing up in less than 2 days.

This time, it is in Malay. See poster below.

The reason this event just popped up last Sunday was because of the Solat Refresher Course, As the Solat Refresher Course was for beginners and for people who wants to refresh, there is another group that are already praying very regularly but they may not understand the whole purpose of takbir, reading the Al Fatihah, rukuk, sujud and others and the meanings behind it.

With the help of Ustaz Zulkiflee Bachik from Artatil, we are organising this same Course on two different dates and venue.

21 July 2012, Masjid Sultan Auditorium, 2pm to 4.30pm

28 July 2012, Singapore Islamic Hub Auditorium @ MUIS , 2pm to 4.30pm

Both events are having the same lecture. If you are keen, please register for one event only.

This time round it's in Malay.

Freshman Orientation

Wow. Time really flies since we left school but the most memorable days in school were the fun activities that we did. And one of them was the Freshman Orientations.

Are you enrolling to NUS or NTU this coming August?

If you are, you should not miss these orientation days as it is the days that you get to meet lots of friends, seniors and lecturers that can help you through out your campus life.

From past experiences, not necessarily that you must be enrolling into NUS then you attend NUS Freshman Orientations... In the past people will go for both events to experience the different cultures from the different schools.

YES. NUS and NTU students does have a certain distinctiveness. :)

Look out for the details organised by the Malay Language and Muslim Societies in Both Schools.

Tasbih or Tasbeeh is a form of dhikr that involves the repetitive utterances of short sentences glorifying God, in Islam. So its not referring to the beads but how the beads got the name is because of how it is used to count and keep track of the tasbeehs.

One of the famous Tasbih's is.

In order:

  1. Allahuakbar (Allah is the Greatest) - repeated 34 times.
  2. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) - repeated 33 times.
  3. Subhan'Allah (Glory be to Allah) - repeated 33 times.

Well you can use your fingers to count the dhikrs but you are encourage to use beads like shown. Its actually easier to count.

If you are looking for good quality beads or customise as a present for your love ones or friends you can refer to www.tasbih99beads.com.

Something different from the usual items that you give as a present. So check them out www.tasbih99beads.com.
