All praises be to Allah swt, Lord of all Universe. The Most Merciful and the Most Kind. Blessings be to our Prophet Muhammad saw, his family and his companions.

Assalammualaikum wr wb,

Dear ,

Ramadan is coming to an end soon and we hope that you have enjoyed the month so far with all the ibadah that you can perform. We still 8 more nights and insyallah within these nights will be the Laylatul Qadr.

Just to update regards to the events that just passed.

Alhamdulillah. On the 8th of August, the crew manage to stream live the "Ceramah Perdana & Malam Gema Al Quran" and since the sound and visual systems was there, we stayed on to stream the "Qiyammulail with Mufti" too.

We wished we had more time to listen to Mufti, Dr Fatris Bakaram to further share his understanding of Surah Fatir Ayat 27-35. As we were constraint with time, he had to skip a few ayats and concluded on ayat 32. If you missed it, the videos will be up very soon. Visit www.ramadan.sg/media in the next few days.

Videos will be up real soon but you can view the photos first here at this link.

So keep on reading...

Tasbih or Tasbeeh is a form of dhikr that involves the repetitive utterances of short sentences glorifying God, in Islam. So its not referring to the beads but how the beads got the name is because of how it is used to count and keep track of the tasbeehs.

One of the famous Tasbih's is.

In order:

  1. Allahuakbar (Allah is the Greatest) - repeated 33 times.
  2. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) - repeated 33 times.
  3. Subhan'Allah (Glory be to Allah) - repeated 33 times.

Well you can use your fingers to count the dhikrs but you are encourage to use beads like shown. Its actually easier to count.

If you are looking for good quality beads or customise as a present for your love ones or friends you can refer to www.tasbih99beads.com.

SHORT STORY: UNRAVELLING THE BEAUTY OF THE QUR’AN

EDITOR AUGUST 7, 2012 0 VIEWS: 134

“Umm….. eeehh” I paused as I tried remembering what I just memorized a few minutes ago. I tried so hard, but it was all gone.

“I forgot” I sighed.

My teacher smiled at me as she patted on my shoulder gently.

Shame pierced through me as I realized that my teacher was giving me a second chance. I did not deserve her patience, for I knew I was the reason for my bad recitation.

It has been my mom’s dream that I memorize the whole Quran since I was young. She has always encouraged me about the matter, asking me in shyness to give her the honor of wearing a tiara on her judgement day. Whenever I remember all that my mother had done and was still doing for me, I would feel severe guilt. At the very least, I had to put that tiara on her and make her happy and proud.

ALLAHU AKBAR”

These soothing Takbir will always be a signal that we are constantly announcing our total submission to the Lord of the worlds.

Even the physical act of raising both hands has been interpreted by a few ulama’ as a sign that we are leaving this universe to enter the presence of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Entering this sacred station, a servant needs a special connection that help him to connect himself to his Lord. The place of a true connection is none other than the heart where it bears fruit in the different parts of the body; the eyes, tongue, hands and feet.

What you look at throughout the day will affect what will you be looking at in yoursolat, what you have been saying will reflect your conversation with Allah subhanahu wa taala. If your hands are always touching beautiful pious Muslim (of the same gender),  it will definitely act beautifully as those sacred hands you touched. If your feet weren’t standing at places it should not be, then it will gracefully stand in front of it’s Lord.

SHORT STORY: THE SWEETNESS OF PRAYING

EDITOR AUGUST 10, 2012 0 VIEWS: 111

“Come on, Farida. Get off that freaking chair and pray al-maghreb,” her mother shouted from the kitchen, “I swear to God, I will burn the hell out of this laptop if you miss the prayer”.

Groaning disapprovingly, Farida gathered all her might to stand up and get her glued eyes off the laptop screen. As Farida rapidly made her wudhu’, she did not notice that the water did not reach her elbow or even her ear; well, that was not listed in her priorities anyway. She never understood the reason behind praying; from her own point of view, praying was all about spitting a few sentences she has memorized when she was young, and that is it.

Never has Farida felt the true sweetness that a prayer would leave a person with. Even though her own parents have described it countless times, numbness is all she feels when she hears them talking about it. She has always wondered: if what they are describing is real, why was she deprived of such sweetness?

She has been searching for solutions to this utter numbness for more than 2 years. However, her research made her feel more burdened and miserable; having no feelings towards what all people feel surreal about means that she is the weird one.

After that, she decided to give up.
