Islamic Finance is a force that is sweeping through the modern economy, led by Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Bahrain, and growing very quickly in most Muslim countries as well as secular countries like the UK and Australia. Here in Singapore, there has been tremendous growth in recent years, both in terms of the community adopting such products, as well as the recent entry of new Islamic Finance providers and products.
The first ever IFFA Conference 2012 will be held this year on 15th December 2012 at Masjid Sultan. With 400 participants, it will be Singapore's largest English-language Islamic Finance event for the public this year. You are invited to join us as a participant to be involved first-hand in the sharing of knowledge and insider information about the concept of Islamic Finance, and also how it impacts us as Muslims and also as a community living in a secular society.
The IFFA Conference 2012 will focus on the fundamental principles of Islamic Finance, about how it is viewed by many to be a successful integration of the spirit of Islam into the modern economic framework. Two of our speakers were instrumental figures in the early-stage development of Islamic Finance in Malaysia (regarded by many to be the most developed and progressive Islamic Finance market in the world). Local speaker Akhi Abdul Halim will provide us with insights into the Islamic Economy and give a local perspective.
