THE YOUNG MUSLIM SCIENTIST CAMP 2012
Three Days of Science & Research In The Company of Distinguished Doctors & Professors.

Dates: 21-23 December 2012

This event is strictly limited to 100 participants only.

WHO SHOULD SIGN UP:

Those with a passion for education, especially the sciences, from upper primary level to adults and parents.

Sequel to the sold-out Young Muslim Scientist Seminar in June 2012.

Aim: To further inculcate interest in science/mathematics intrinsically within individuals, especially students. Interest will further spark passion and love for science

Presents a more comprehensive, hands-on and in-depth look at what constitutes a Muslim scientist/science practitioner and love for science and research.

Aims to impart and inculcate scientific skills such as:

- Higher-order thinking skills and research skills
- Working within time-constrained environments
- Teamwork; presentation skills; oratorical skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Mathematical investigation skills
- Creativity; time management
and a competitive and entrepreneurial spirit

DAY ONE (Friday, 21 December 2012):

IBN RESEARCH CAMP

A half-day research camp at the Institute of Bioengineering & Research held exclusively for The W.R.I.T.E. Club.

Rub shoulders with true-to-life scientists and researchers right in their working environments as together you carry out experiments guided by IBN's own pool of researchers at the laboratories of IBN itself, at A*Star, Buona Vista.

DAY TWO (Saturday, 22 December 2012):
A full-day camp featuring:

(1) MY JOURNEY TO BEING

A SCIENTIST/SCIENCE PRACTITIONER

Panel Discussion on the track to being a science professional.

- What does it take?
- How were they inspired?
- What is the path to pursue a passion and career in the sciences?

BRAINATHON @ CHANGI AIRPORT

Take off @ Changi Airport as you compete and complete a physical and mental course of logical thinking that is so required of a scientist/researcher/science practitioner under the guidance of PHI DECKS, an up-and-coming company comprising Silicon-Valley trained NTU graduates, proclaimed as one of 15 Best Start-Ups 2012 and winning the Plug & Play Acceleration Award.
